N-Power Medicine, a company transforming oncology drug development, and New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS), one of the nation’s largest independent community oncology practices and a longtime leader in clinical research, today announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the generation of N-Power’s Prospective External Control Arms (ProECAs). This novel approach is designed to reduce the size of oncology clinical trials and bring new therapies to patients years sooner. As part of the partnership, NYCBS will participate in the N-Power Network and offer ProECA programs to its patients, beginning in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

N-Power’s ProECA platform builds standalone, protocol-driven control arms by collecting trial-grade data on patients receiving standard-of-care therapy. Unlike retrospective approaches that rely on data generated without a standardized framework, ProECAs are designed from the outset with protocolized data collection and imaging-based endpoints aligned with clinical trial standards. ProECAs can reduce the need for randomization, improve decision-making in early development and advance promising molecules into late-phase trials.

NYCBS brings more than 90 medical oncologists at over 30 locations across New York, adding a large, diverse patient population to the N-Power Network and providing its patients with broader access to clinical research as part of the care they already receive.

The N-Power Network spans more than 50 community oncology sites across multiple large health systems. Pharmaceutical and biotech partners already use N-Power’s NSCLC ProECA to accelerate early development and Phase 4 programs, and N-Power plans to expand across major cancer indications, with a colorectal program launching later this year.

“Clinical research has long been central to how we care for patients at NYCBS, and this partnership extends that commitment across our entire practice,” said Justas Lauzadis, PhD, chief research officer of New York Cancer & Blood Specialists. “By building trial-grade data collection into everyday care, we give more patients the opportunity to contribute to research without adding burden for them or our physicians. Adopting prospective external control arms enhances our research program for our patients living with NSCLC, and we look forward to expanding ProECA to additional indications.”

“We are thrilled to welcome New York Cancer & Blood Specialists to the N-Power Network,” said Mark Lee, MD, PhD, co-founder and chief executive officer of N-Power Medicine. “NYCBS is one of the most respected independent oncology practices in the country, and its scale, research experience and deep roots in New York communities make it an ideal partner for ProECA. Together, we can generate the high-quality evidence needed for faster, smarter drug development while bringing more research opportunities to thousands of patients close to home.”

About N-Power Medicine

N-Power Medicine has built a national network of community oncology centers, creating the first “always-on” Prospective External Control Arm (ProECA) platform that enables drug developers to reduce or replace randomized control arms and run faster, smaller, more efficient clinical trials, while simultaneously expanding access to clinical research and innovation for physicians and patients in the communities where they live.
