Art by St. Jude patient Brinley
For children facing cancer and other life-threatening diseases, art is often much more than a creative outlet. Through the St. Jude art therapy program, patients are provided opportunities to express emotions that can be difficult to put into words, cope with the challenges, and reclaim moments of childhood during some of the hardest days of their lives.
“Every piece of art created by a St. Jude patient tells a story far bigger than what appears on the page. It reflects the courage, resilience and hope that children and families bring to every step of their journey,” said Samantha Maltin, Chief Marketing and Brand Officer for ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude. “When these powerful expressions are shared on one of golf’s biggest stages, they become more than artwork; they become a call to action for people everywhere to become Partners in Hope and donate monthly to St. Jude. We are grateful to FedEx, the PGA TOUR and pro golfers for helping inspire new supporters to join the St. Jude mission, so together we can create more moments of hope and healing for children and families around the world.”
Showcasing St. Jude patient art throughout Tournament week inspires thousands to give back in the form of monthly donations. A special community of monthly supporters, St. Jude Partners in Hope® are committed to saving children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Monthly gifts help St. Jude provide lifesaving research and care for kids in the U.S. and across the world.
Since 1970, the PGA TOUR’s Memphis event has raised $86 million for St. Jude, helping ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food so they can focus on helping their child live.
Fans and audiences around the world can expand this impact by:
- Purchasing exclusive patient art merchandise at the PGA TOUR Pro Shop and online through the St. Jude Gift Shop.
- Bidding on exclusive memorabilia and experiences through the Birdies for St. Jude Auction.
- Becoming a Partner in Hope®. With a qualifying monthly donation.
