Global nonprofit Humanity’s Team says humanity’s greatest challenges won’t be solved by a lone hero, but by billions recognizing how deeply connected they are.

BOULDER, CO, UNITED STATES, August 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — “Project Hail Mary,” the science fiction blockbuster that grossed more than $675 million worldwide and is now reaching audiences at home, imagines an extraordinary journey across the galaxy to save the human race. Humanity’s Team, a global 501(c)(3) nonprofit co-founded by Conversations with God author Neale Donald Walsch and Steve Farrell, says humanity’s real rescue mission is already underway here on Earth, and it begins by challenging one of the most deeply held assumptions in modern life: that people are separate from one another and from the planet they share.

“‘Project Hail Mary’ gives us a compelling fictional mission to save humanity,” said Steve Farrell, Co-Founder and Worldwide Executive Director of Humanity’s Team. “But here in the real world, there is no lone hero. There are billions of us. The question is what becomes possible when enough of us recognize that we are deeply interconnected and begin living that way.”

Humanity’s Team calls that shift conscious living, the practice of bringing an awareness of interconnectedness into everyday life and allowing it to shape how people treat themselves, one another, and the Earth. That understanding is increasingly echoed in modern physics and systems science, both pointing to a universe defined less by separation than by relationship, interdependence, and connection.

“When we experience ourselves as separate, fear and scarcity can drive our choices,” Farrell said. “When we recognize that we belong to something larger, compassion becomes more natural, stewardship becomes more personal, and our individual choices begin contributing to the common good.”

“Every generation has been told that rescue comes from somewhere else,” said Neale Donald Walsch, Co-Founder of Humanity’s Team. “The invitation now is to stop waiting and recognize what has been true all along: we were never separate to begin with.”
Humanity’s Team has spent 23 years putting that idea into practice through educational programs, global events, partnerships, and a worldwide community now spanning more than 100 countries. The organization has set a goal of making conscious living prevalent worldwide by 2040.

“We don’t need to wait for someone to save us,” Farrell said. “Every choice for compassion over judgment, cooperation over conflict, and connection over division helps shape humanity’s trajectory. The challenges before us are real, from division and isolation to the strain on the planet itself, and so is our collective capacity to meet them.”
