INDIANAPOLIS, IN, UNITED STATES, August 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — MIBOR Broker Listing Cooperative® (BLC®) Listing Service and Indiana Regional MLS (IRMLS) today announced a new data-sharing agreement that will expand access to listing information across both marketplaces and provide real estate professionals with a more connected view of Indiana’s housing market.
Through the agreement, subscribers of the BLC® and IRMLS will be able to access shared listing data through the MLS platforms they already use, providing greater visibility into market activity across a broader geographic area. The agreement reflects a shared commitment by the BLC and IRMLS to improve access to information while preserving the strengths of locally governed marketplaces.
By reducing barriers between MLS systems, the partnership allows brokers and agents to work more effectively across market boundaries without requiring them to change the way they do business. “Real estate professionals don’t think in terms of MLS boundaries. They think in terms of serving their clients,” said Shelley Specchio, President and CEO of MIBOR Service Corporation, providers of the BLC® Listing Service.
“Our responsibility as MLS leaders is to build a marketplace that supports the way brokers actually do business. This agreement expands access to listing information while preserving the local expertise that each marketplace provides, creating a better more connected experience for brokers, agents and consumers across Indiana.”
Reducing Barriers Across Markets
The data-sharing agreement will allow BLC® and IRMLS subscribers to view listing information from a larger geographic area through the MLS system they already use. For brokers and agents, that means greater access to information that can help them understand market activity, identify opportunities, and better serve clients whose real estate needs extend beyond a single MLS market.
For consumers, it means their real estate professional will have access to a more complete view of available properties and local market activity, allowing them to provide better-informed guidance throughout the buying and selling process. The agreement also reinforces one of the MLS’s most important functions: Cooperation. By sharing accurate and timely listing information, real estate professionals can work together more effectively while continuing to compete for business and serve their clients.
“This collaboration expands access to timely, comprehensive listing information and gives IRMLS subscribers a broader view of the Indiana real estate market, said Carrie Kendall, General Manager of Indiana Regional MLS. As MLS leaders, we have a responsibility to pursue partnerships that reduce barriers, strengthen cooperation, and provide meaningful value to the professionals we serve. We are equipping brokers with more timely and concise information to serve their clients’ needs,” said Carrie Kendall, General Manager, Indiana Regional MLS.
Working Together to Strengthen the Marketplace
The agreement reflects a shared commitment by the Broker Listing Cooperative® and Indiana Regional MLS to improve the real estate marketplace through collaboration and innovation. As consumers and real estate professionals move across a wider geographic area, partnerships between MLS organizations can reduce barriers and create a more seamless experience. Sharing data allows each organization to maintain its local marketplace while giving subscribers access to information that reaches beyond its traditional service area.
Once fully implemented later this fall, the combined data-sharing partnerships will provide BLC® and IRMLS subscribers with visibility into approximately 88% of all listings across Indiana through the MLS platform they already use.
