Boston, MA, Sept. 10, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Smartcat today announced the general availability of SCORM Studio, which takes a published e-learning course and returns it in every language a company needs, working from the exported package itself. No source files, no rebuild, and no authoring-tool license.
Corporate learning teams own libraries of courses that are, in practice, frozen. Once a course has been published and uploaded to a learning management system, changing a word or adding a language means rebuilding it from source files, which are routinely scattered across vendors and former employees, locked behind licenses nobody renewed, or gone. Faced with that cost, teams reasonably decline, and training content a company has already paid to produce reaches one market and inevitably falls out of date.
SCORM Studio removes the rebuild. Now, when a team uploads the published package, it will be routed back in every target language, pixel-perfect: layout, media and interactivity intact. Depending on the format, that extends past on-screen text to subtitles, voice-over and localized images. Because the course never leaves its original format, it goes straight back to the existing LMS without re-testing interactions or reassembling modules by hand.
Translated courses carry the full Smartcat workflow with the same translation memories, glossaries and human review as everything else a company publishes. A course library stays consistent with the product documentation, marketing and support content around it. For localization teams, a published course stops being an exception routed to a specialist vendor.
“Every learning team we talk to has the same problem: they own a library they paid to produce, that they can’t touch,” said Ivan Smolnikov, CEO of Smartcat. “SCORM Studio treats a published course the way it should be treated, as a normal, translatable asset. Upload what you have, and get it back for every market.”
At launch, SCORM Studio supports courses published from iSpring Suite, EasyGenerator, Adobe Captivate, including Classic and Modern exports from versions that can no longer be opened, Absorb Create and CEGID (Talentsoft / e-doceo), with more formats onboarding continuously. Where a format isn’t yet covered, Smartcat is committed to confirming against a customer’s own files rather than issue a blanket claim: send a sample package, get an exact answer on what works today.
SCORM Studio sits alongside Smartcat’s existing e-learning capabilities, including translation for additional authoring-tool formats through the platform, and the Flexible Editor, which converts a published course into an editable format for teams that need to change the content rather than the language. Translate the course as it is, or convert it and take full control.
SCORM Studio is available to Smartcat customers today. Teams can upload a published course at smartcat.com/scorm-studio/, or bring their files to their account manager to work on.
The product is also the foundation of a broader direction for the e-learning line: AI Coworkers that help teams keep course libraries current, checking translated layouts and flagging what needs a human eye, and refreshing dated courses from their existing content. Smartcat expects to share more on both soon.
